DESCRIPTION:Vela Luka and Klapa DooWoPella @ Folklife\, May 26th \nEnjoy performances by both Vela Luka Croatian Dance Ensemble and Klapa DooWoPella at the 53rd Annual Folklife Festival. \nMay 26\, 2024\, 1:45-2:30\, Exhibition Hall\, Free \nEnjoy the glorious voices of Klapa DooWoPella as they serenade you with lyrical and mesmerizing tunes. \nVela Luka will perform: \nVrlicko Kolo:  A silent dance\, showing the strength of the people of Vrlika and the virtuosity of the male dancers. \nDances of Konavle:  Two dances will be performed from the Dubrovnik region.  Potkolo will be danced by the village (ensemble) and Poskocica is the time for the young girls to show off.  Both are performed to the voice of a single instrument\, the lijerica.  Lijerica player:  John Lovric \nLindjo-Poskocica:  Performed in villages in the Dubrovnik Region. Vela Luka’s poskocica is from the town of Doli\, high above the Adriatic Sea.  Poskocica is danced to the voice of the lijerica\, a three-string instrument.  Lijerica player:  John Lovric \nPhoto by Jal Schrof
